First Timers

CRUSH is Orlando’s premier indie dj night. We like to think that we cater to a smarter audience with a taste for real indie, elctro, uk grime and of course some cliche 80s and 90s hip-hop, dance and alt rock. We take being hip pretty seriously and are constantly scouring resources for new music but don’t consider our selves too cool for a little Fischerspooner or Franz Ferdinand. You can expect to see a mix of people some dressed up and some in their line cook uniforms. You can expect to hear a lot of music you know and a lot of music you don’t know. We try to keep the dance floor moving. There’s also that whole free beer/cheap drink thing. We stand by the saying “There’s nothing like getting sloshed on a Monday night to put the rest of the week in perspective.” All of the Crush DJs and Staff have day jobs so we don’t want to hear any excuses.

The History

Although there are other CRUSHes far and wide including one such softdrink (no longer disputing our trademark) CRUSH ORLANDO is the only one so audacious as to be held on a Monday night and in Orlando, none the less. On August 28th, 2004 a group of promoters and DJs from South Florida (see: CRUSH FTL) threw the first party at Back Booth and can take credit for the trendsetting “free keg o’ pbr” fad that swept through Orlando over the next 2 years. Today CRUSH is run by one of the original promoters and a slew of rotating djs. It is still and always has been held at Back Booth.
